Explores a musical theatre production for the beginning collegiate actor from audition to performance through lecture, research and rehearsals. Includes textual analysis, historical research, connecting text to dramatic action on stage, and developing vocal and physical techniques for the beginning actor. Public performance required.
Audition required before enrollment. This is a production course for 'Kill Me Deadly.' This is a late start course beginning 9/11 and ending 11/20. Preliminary auditions will take place on Monday 8/21 and Tuesday 8/22 at 6:45 pm. Callback auditions will take place on Thursday 8/24 at 6:45 pm. Performance dates are 11/12, 11/11, 11/17, and 11/18 at 8 PM and 11/12 and 11/19 at 2pm. In addition to the scheduled days and times of the course, students will also meet an additional 28 hours depending upon the rehearsal schedule. Hours are available during the following days and times: Sunday, 11/5 from 11am-5pm, Saturday 11/11 and 11/18 from 5pm-10pm, Sunday 11/12 and 11/19 from 12pm-5pm and Monday 11/20 from 6pm-10pm for dismantling of the set.
